I obtained my PhD at PUC-Rio and the University of Coimbra, supervised by Professors Ralph Bannell and Maria Teresa Pessoa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I am a member of GEPFE – Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisa em Filosofia e Educa\u00e7\u00e3o <\/a>\/ PUC-Rio.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Since 2017 I have been doing research on digital technologies and the human cognition, based on a group of approaches to human cognition known as the 4E Cognition: Embedded, Embodied, Extended and Enactive Cognition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n The 4E Cognition framework posits that cognition is not limited to the brain, involving the body as a whole and the environment. Also taking into account emotions in cognitive processes, these perspectives broaden the concept of experience, aesthetics, affection, perception, action, and consequently can orient new ways to understand learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I have been working to articulate these approaches in order to investigate their implications for education, conducting my research from the perspective of the philosophy of education. In particular, I am interested in the philosophical investigation of machine learning through the lens of these theses.
